Voters may still pick 8 Kansas wonders

Time is running out for those interested in helping to catapult Baldwin City’s Black Jack Battlefield or Lecompton’s Constitution Hall to official “Wonder of Kansas” status.

Voting will end on Tuesday for the Kansas Sampler Foundation’s Eight Wonders of Kansas History Contest. More than 14,000 votes already have been cast in the contest.

The area landmarks are some of 24 Kansas historical sites nominated to become one of the eight designated wonders.

Voters may vote online at 8wonders.org, where a complete list of the finalists is available. Anyone interested in obtaining a paper ballot may call 620-585-2374. Paper ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday to be counted.
