Topeka Two more Republican candidates have filed to run in the 1st Congressional District in Kansas.
Both Tracey Mann and Rob Wasinger have been campaigning for months. As of Wednesday, six candidates were on the Aug. 3 Republican primary ballot.
Wasinger, of Cottonwood Falls, is former chief of staff to U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback. Mann, from Salina, is a commercial real estate seller.
Incumbent Republican Rep. Jerry Moran is running for the U.S. Senate. The 1st District covers western and central Kansas.
Other Republicans who have filed are state Sens. Jim Barnett, of Emporia, and Tim Huelskamp, of Fowler; Hays educator Sue Boldra; and Galva attorney and retired Air Force officer Marck Cobb.
The only declared Democratic candidate is former Salina Mayor Alan Jilka.
The filing deadline in noon June 10.
