Looking to set your baby apart? Don’t name him Aiden or her Addison, which top list of Kansas’ most popular this year

? For the sixth year running, Aiden is the most popular name for newborn boys in Kansas. For girls, it was Addison.

The list is compiled by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s Bureau of Public Health Informatics. Names are compiled from birth certificates filed with the state.

Rounding out the top five girls’ names were Emma, Isabella, Chloe and Kaylee. KDHE says Kaylee also topped the list of most spelling variations with 46. Abigail, Chloe and Lillian joined the list for the first time.

The other top boys’ names were Jackson, Kaden, Brayden and Ethan. Kaden had the most variations in spelling with 31.

KDHE says Celtic and biblical names remain the popular choices for newborn boys.
