Army Reserve Pvt. Ryan W. Hakes has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Hakes is a 2009 graduate of De Soto High School and the brother of Damon Hakes, De Soto.

1st Lt. William Jared Pringle, son of Tim and Brigitte Pringle of Eudora, graduated from Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training July 1 at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi, 14th Flying Training Wing.

Lt. Pringle will be flying the C-17 Globemaster, and will be located at Charleston Air Base in South Carolina.

The lieutenant is a 2004 graduate of Eudora High School and a 2008 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy.
