Solar car challenge stops in Garden City
Garden City ? High school students driving solar-powered cars from Texas to Colorado have taken a pit stop in western Kansas.
Fourteen solar cars built by high school students from across the country stopped at the Garden City Community College campus on Friday.
They’re taking part in the 2010 Hunt-Winston School Solar Car Challenge.
The cars are en route from Fort Worth, Texas, to Boulder, Colo., as part of an eight-day race.
The race started a week ago and ends today in Colorado.
