Nicholas L. Barkley and Calvin E. Morgan have entered Basic Cadet Training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. The six-week orientation program must be successfully completed by the cadets prior to entering their freshman year.

Barkley, a 2009 graduate of Baldwin High School, is the son of Ruth and David Barkley, Baldwin City.

Morgan, a 2010 graduate of Lawrence High School, is the son of Scott and Kathleen Morgan, Lawrence.
