Toddler sought in Kansas found in Missouri

? A 3-year-old boy who was thought to be with a man wanted for questioning in a Kansas homicide has turned up in Missouri.

Olathe police say Carlos Angel Villegas III was dropped off Wednesday morning by an unknown person at a homeless shelter in Kansas City, Mo. The toddler had been last seen with a 22-year-old man described as a person of interest in a homicide at a motel in Olathe. Police reported later Wednesday that the man was in custody.

Authorities said the man had been staying at the same Econo Lodge where Stephen L. Cook, 57, was found dead Tuesday. Police said Cook was a California resident who had been working in the area. No other details about the victim or the death were released Wednesday.
