Parkinson’s State of the State address to be carried live on LJWorld.com, Sunflower’s Channel 6

Governor Mark Parkinson gave his first address to the state legislature during a joint session of the house and senate in the house chamber of the capital building in Topeka Thursday, April 30, 2009.

When Gov. Mark Parkinson delivers his first State of the State Address at 7 p.m. today, ordinary Kansans and government officials will be waiting to hear how he proposes to offset significant reductions in state revenues.

Parkinson, a Democrat, is expected to outline his plan and priorities for this year’s legislative session in a broadcast you can see streamed live online on LJWorld.com and on Sunflower Broadband’s Channel 6.

House Speaker Mike O’Neal will give the Republicans’ message, and that will also be carried live by both LJWorld.com and Channel 6.

Parkinson’s speech will be made to a joint session of the Kansas House and Senate and will be delivered from the House chambers in Topeka.
