Wichita’s Intrust Bank Arena makes its debut
Wichita ? Freezing temperatures didn’t stop crowds from turning out for the grand opening of the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita.
Several hundred waited outside before the doors opened Saturday morning for an open house for the $184.5 million arena. The event included dancers, balloons, fireworks and food and drink for a buck.
Seven-year-old Kaydyn Davison was picked to cut the ceremonial grand-opening ribbon. Her crayon rendition of Hannah Montana and a clown won top honors in a contest that asked children to draw a picture of what they would most like to see performing in the new arena.
