2 charged in use of dead woman’s credit

? Two people have been charged with using a credit card of a woman whose frozen body was found in a car outside a northeast Kansas hospital.

Forty-one-year-old Jeffrey A. Bendure and 39-year-old Lisa I. Smith are scheduled to appear in court this week. They were charged Thursday in Johnson County District Court with identity fraud and criminal use of a credit card.

Authorities allege they used Angela Hook’s credit card on Dec. 7. Hook was last seen Dec. 5 on her way out shopping.

The body of the 40-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman wasn’t found until Tuesday, three weeks after she had disappeared.

Police are still trying to determine how long she had been outside Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam.
