A Lawrence man pleaded no contest Monday to trying to kill a Kansas City man in June, Douglas County court records said.
James "Jimmy" McAdams, 19, entered pleas to charges of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated intimidation of a witness or victim, both felonies.
Police said McAdams fired shots at a 20-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man just before 2 a.m. June 19, after a robbery attempt near 24th Street and Murphy Drive, southeast of 23rd and Iowa streets. No injuries were reported.
McAdams is scheduled to be sentenced by Chief District Judge Robert Fairchild at 8:30 a.m. March 2.
