Former Wichita court clerk faces bribery sentencing

? A former Wichita municipal court officer who took bribes to alter computerized records is expected to learn her punishment this week.

Kaylene Pottorff is set for sentencing Thursday before U.S. District Judge J. Thomas Marten. Former bond agent Jessie Garland faces her sentencing on Friday.

Another former bond agent, Alicia Bell, was sentenced in October to five years of probation and ordered to pay $185,125 in restitution.

Prosecutors say alterations to the court database allowed the bond agents to avoid paying bond forfeitures. They estimate the city lost at least $500,000 to the scheme.

All three defendants had pleaded guilty.
