Kansas Army National Guard’s top personnel officer retiring

? The Kansas Army National Guard’s top personnel officer is retiring next month after a career spanning 36 years.

Col. Timothy Marlar, of Newton, has been the Kansas Army Guard’s military personnel officer since January 2007. He’s also served as a battalion commander and director of military support.

The Guard plans to have a retirement ceremony for Marlar on Sept. 7 at its armory in Topeka.
