6 nabbed for drunken driving after crash

? A three-vehicle crash in Topeka that started when a driver fled from police has resulted in drunken driving charges against six people.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a Capitol Police officer tried to stop the driver of a stolen car Monday night. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports the chase ended about 9:30 p.m. when the fleeing driver hit a pickup truck and another vehicle.

The driver and a passenger in the stolen car and the driver of the pickup were listed in critical condition Tuesday afternoon.

The Highway Patrol says the drivers of the stolen car and both vehicles that were struck were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. Three people who drove past the crash scene also appeared intoxicated and were arrested for drunken driving.
