Fairway man charged with shooting gun at car

A 37-year-old Fairway man faces a felony charge of criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling or vehicle after a shooting early Sunday morning.

After receiving a call reporting gunshots just after midnight near 23rd Street and Naismith Drive at the Burger King, police say they believe Marc D. Conley fired shots at a silver passenger car occupied by a runaway 16-year-old girl from Fairway who is a relative of Conley’s. An 18-year-old Lawrence man also was in the car with the girl. Neither was injured.

The court set bond in the case at $7,500.
