Topeka State transportation officials are hitting the road beginning Monday to talk with Kansans about future construction projects.
A series of public workshops will focus on the new $8.2 billion transportation program approved this year by the Legislature.
The Kansas Department of Transportation has yet to select projects for the program, which will include roads, aviation and rail. Transportation Secretary Deb Miller says the workshops will help communities and individuals prepare for further meetings this fall.
The first workshop was scheduled Monday afternoon in Wichita. The others are set for Tuesday in Dodge City, Sept. 1 in Olathe and Sept. 2 in Pittsburg.
