Interstate 70 traffic to be reduced to one lane in Topeka area

Construction will cut a portion of Interstate 70 down to one lane from Aug. 16 to Aug. 19 in the Topeka area. Westbound traffic from the Kansas Turnpike East Topeka Toll Gate Plaza to exit 364 at Carnahan Avenue will be reduced to one lane for concrete and pavement repair work. The speed limit in the construction area has been reduced to 55 miles per hour for the duration of the work.

Drivers can expect some minor delays, and the Kansas Department of Transportation encourages drivers to use alternate routes when possible. More information about the project can be found at www.ksdot.org/topekametro/laneclose.asp.
