Topeka ? Rep. Tom Sloan, R-Lawrence, has filed for re-election.

“I look forward to continuing my work and progress on the three factors that will determine the quality of life in Kansas — quality educational opportunities, sufficient and affordable cleaner energy, and abundant clean water,” said Sloan.

Sloan, who is chairman of the House Vision 2020 Committee, is seeking his ninth term in office.

The 45th District includes west Lawrence and Lecompton.

Earlier this month, former Lawrence school board member Linda Robinson, a Democrat, announced she would challenge Sloan.
