Wichita ? The progress of rock singer Bret Michaels, who suffered a brain hemorrhage, is being watched closely by organizers of the Wichita River Festival.

The 47-year-old Poison singer and reality TV star was hospitalized in Los Angeles after falling ill Friday night. He was reported in critical condition late Friday, and no updates were issued Saturday.

He is scheduled to perform at the Wichita festival’s opening night on May 7.

Festival president Janet Wright says organizers are still hopeful Michaels will be able to perform. But she said that alternative entertainment would be found if that’s not possible.
