Concordia ? The Kansas Highway Patrol has been investigating a fatal accident in northeast Kansas.

Patrol dispatcher Brian Walter said a person was run over by a vehicle on the campus of Cloud County Community College in Concordia on Wednesday.

James Stringer, interim president of Cloud County Community College, identified the victim as freshman Ridge Read of Rossville. He was just finishing his first year in the college’s wind energy technology program. The patrol said details were being withheld because the accident was under investigation.

Students and staff had a candlelight vigil honoring Read at the college on Wednesday night.
