Girard ? A southeast Kansas jail ledger dating to 1921 has been turned over to Pittsburg State University for preservation.

Crawford County Sheriff Sandy Horton said Friday that he thinks it’s important to preserve the book.

Randy Roberts with Pittsburg State University’s Axe Library says he will store the book in the Special Collections section of the library. Eventually, the pages will be digitized so they can be viewed electronically.

Roberts says they are “very excited” to get material that is so old.
