Topeka Kansas officials and university economists plan to issue two important financial forecasts next week.
Gov. Mark Parkinson and the Legislature will use the projections in finishing work on the state budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1.
On Wednesday, officials from social services agencies and the governor's office will issue a forecast on the costs of social service programs such as Medicaid.
New state revenue forecasts are to be issued two days later, on the afternoon of April 16. Those forecasts are produced by legislative reseachers, budget staffers, Department of Revenue officials and university economists.
