Topeka Attorney General Steve Six is forming an advisory council to study ways to protect older Kansans against consumer fraud.
The Democratic attorney general has named a former attorney general, Republican Bob Stephan, to chair the council. Other members will be appointed later.
Spokeswoman Ashley Anstaett says that Six is concerned because older people targeted more than other groups by scam artist.
Stephan served as attorney general from 1979 to 1995.
