Kansas City, Kan. ? A 43-year-old Missouri woman who already has been sentenced to nine consecutive life sentences for a 2006 crime spree got another one on Monday.

Dena Riley, Independence, Mo., pleaded guilty in federal court in June to kidnapping a 5-year-old southeast Kansas girl while Riley and her boyfriend were wanted for murder in Missouri.

On Monday, she was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Kansas to life in prison without parole.

Riley’s plea was part of a deal to spare her from a death penalty in the videotaped slaying of 41-year-old Marsha Spicer, who was suffocated in May 2006 during sex at an Independence apartment that Riley shared with Richard Davis.

Riley was sentenced earlier to life without parole in Spicer’s death, plus eight additional life sentences and 239 years in prison for 25 other counts. Davis has been sentenced to death for the same crimes.

Both still are facing capital murder charges in the death of a different woman, 36-year-old Michelle Huff-Ricci of Kansas City.

While on the run from police May 24, 2006, after Spicer’s slaying, Riley and Davis spent the night with Davis’ half-sister in Arcadia, Kan.

Prosecutors say the family was unaware that Riley and Davis were wanted by police.

The next day the couple got permission to take the 5-year-old out for lunch, but instead drove her to Missouri.

The girl was rescued after Riley called a sheriff’s office and said she and Davis were going to kill themselves. Prosecutors said the child had injuries consistent with sexual abuse.

Riley also has pleaded guilty to kidnapping, sodomy, sex abuse and assault in the attack on Huff-Ricci.
