Emporia ? An Emporia man who was shot last Tuesday has died and police are investigating the case as a homicide.

Emporia police say 25-year-old Omar Flores, who most recently lived in Basehor, died Sunday night at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

Flores was shot several times last Tuesday at the Rodeway Inn in Emporia.

Police Lt. Ed Owens says a suspect has not been determined and the motive for the shooting is unclear.

Flores’ death was the second homicide in Emporia this year after nearly four years without a homicide. Justin Nurnberg was stabbed to death in June. His girlfriend, DeAnna Meece, has been charged with second-degree murder in that case.
