North Lawrence group sets annual picnic
The North Lawrence Improvement Association will hold its annual picnic at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 14 in the shelter house at Lyons Park.
The guest speaker will be Sarah Hill-Nelson, of the Bowersock Mills & Power Co., who will discuss plans to build a hydroelectric power station and recreation area on the north side of the Kansas River.
“We usually have about 50 to 60 people, a lot of really good food and good conversation,” said Ted Boyle, president of the association.
