Possible hazing leads to suspensions
Beloit ? Two Beloit football players have been indefinitely suspended from the team while allegations of hazing against a freshman player are investigated.
Mitchell County Attorney Mark Noah said Thursday that charges are likely to be filed against one 18-year-old player and possibly a second player from Beloit Junior-Senior High School.
The incident occurred Aug. 21 in the school’s locker room after practice. Noah said law enforcement heard about the alleged hazing on Monday.
Beloit police say a muscle relaxant gel was applied to the freshman’s body and authorities are trying to determine if he was physically restrained.
The 14-year-old victim, who required medical treatment, remains on the team.
