Woman’s gut feeling exposes impersonator

? A northeast Kansas man faces charges after a woman he was dating reported he was posing as a police officer and threatened to arrest her.

An area newspaper reported that the woman called Lenexa police late Tuesday while on a date with 33-year-old Aaron Walton.

Police say the woman was suspicious about Walton’s claims of being a police officer and his alleged threat to arrest her if she didn’t come home with him.

The two were in separate cars. Walton drove away and was later arrested without incident at his home in Lenexa.

The Johnson County district attorney’s office says Walton was arraigned Wednesday on charges of battery and impersonating an officer. He’s scheduled to return to court for a diversion hearing.
