Westbound motorists on the Kansas Turnpike should expect changes to the East Lawrence interchange today.

Traffic will move onto a new ramp around 3 p.m. today, weather permitting.

Turnpike officials plan to move the entrance to the westbound exit ramp about 1,500 feet to the east. The work is part of an ongoing $130 million project to replace turnpike bridges over the Kansas River and upgrade interchanges in the area.

The changes originally were planned for last week, but wet weather delayed the project.
