U.S. 24-59 briefly shut down Tuesday morning

U.S. Highway 24-59 was briefly shut down Tuesday morning after a tractor trailer became stuck off the highway, Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig said.

Herrig said a tow truck had to help get the stuck vehicle back onto the road, about 7 a.m..

The incident happened north of Lawrence near the Jefferson County-Douglas County line.

The highway has reopened, the sheriff said.

yea more like he tried to Uturn on a 2 lane highway.. it was a sight to see... I had to go in the grass to get around. He was clear across the road.. crazy man haha

We turned around and came into town through Lecompton. What a mess!
