Group for disabled to offer budget forum

? A group representing Kansans with disabilities has scheduled a forum on the state’s fiscal problems.

The event will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Room 120 at the Washburn University School of Law.

Shannon Jones, executive director of the Statewide Independent Living Council of Kansas, said there has been too much emphasis on cutting the state budget instead of looking at how tax cuts have reduced revenue to the state.

SILCK is sponsoring a panel discussion that will feature Jones, Kansas Department of Revenue Secretary Joan Wagnon and Bradley Borden, a law school professor on tax policy.
