Dodge City ? Visitors to the Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City will be able to see a piece of history on Dec. 7.

The museum will hold a public viewing of the police docket book from the late 1870s, which includes notes and signatures of lawmen Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson. It also contains details of court cases in Dodge City from 1878 to 1882.

The docket was recovered earlier this year after a yearlong investigation by the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Ford County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials found the book after someone tried to sell it on the Internet. It has an estimated value of $100,000.

The Boot Hill Museum will hold a public viewing of the book from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in the museum’s Old House Saloon.
