Havensville ? A northeast Kansas man drowned when his boat capsized in a Pottawatomie County pond.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 51-year-old Marc Sauvage of Havensville.

The Sheriff’s Office said it received a call about 3:30 a.m. Sunday saying the man’s boat had tipped over in a pond south of Havensville and that he had been underwater for several minutes. Dispatchers said they were told the man couldn’t swim.

Emergency units were not able to resuscitate Sauvage, who was pronounced dead of an apparent drowning. A coroner’s report is pending.
