Police response at bank just a drill

? Residents should not be alarmed if they see multiple law enforcement officers with their weapons drawn Wednesday afternoon.

In a training exercise, Ottawa Police and Franklin County sheriff’s deputies will respond to a simulation of a serious crime at a bank near 23rd and Princeton streets, a news release said. The exercise near the busy intersection just north of Interstate 25 will begin at 4 p.m.

Officers will be working near restaurants and businesses in the area and will be displaying weapons that are not loaded. Members of the public are asked not to speak to officers during the exercise.
