Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters wins award

Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters Inc. was awarded the Quality Agency Recognition Award on Wednesday at the organization’s national conference in Miami. The award recognizes 16 Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country for volunteer supervision, screening and tenure of matches.

Keith Wood, executive director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County, said the award confirms the high standard of service the agency provides.

“We’re not only doing a good job, we’re doing an outstanding job,” he said.

Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters serves more than 6,400 children per year, and the Douglas County chapter works with more than 500 children every year.
