No one injured in overnight house fire in south Leavenworth County
Tonganoxie ? No one was in a southern Leavenworth County home when a fire started Sunday, according to Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The owner of the home, Lawren D. Pringle Jr., 70, Lawrence, told officers the house wasn’t occupied.
At 9:35 p.m. Sunday, sheriff’s officers were dispatched to the home in the 24900 block of Chieftain Road, about five miles southwest of Tonganoxie.
The home was completely engulfed in flames by 10 p.m. and collapsed shortly thereafter.
Units from Reno Township Fire Department assisted by Tonganoxie City, Tonganoxie Township, Fairmount Township, Kickapoo Township, Stranger Township, Sherman Township, Sarcoxie and District 1 fire departments, as well as Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical were called to the scene. No injuries were reported.
The fire’s cause is still under investigation.
