NAACP: Racial slur issues now resolved

? An NAACP leader says the group has resolved its issues over a receipt that a shoe store customer was given containing a racial slur.

The incident happened in October at a suburban Kansas City mall. A black customer noticed the slur on his receipt after returning a pair of shoes at the Journeys store at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park.

The receipt had “Cust: Dumb” printed on it, followed by the N-word.

Henry Lyons is president of the Olathe branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. He says the civil rights group is satisfied that the store’s owner, the Nashville-based Genesco Inc., will “find a way that this incident will not happen again.”
