Call center’s hours to be extended

? The Kansas Department of Labor will expand its call center hours on Monday.

The department is trying to meet the increasing demand of thousands of Kansans seeking unemployment benefits and emergency unemployment compensation.

The department’s unemployment contact center will extend its hours from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

The center has been experiencing high call volumes and wait times.

The extended hours are temporary. Call center phone numbers are: Kansas City, (913) 596-3500; Topeka, (785) 575-1460; Wichita, (316) 383-9947; and all other areas, (800) 292-6333.
