Homeland Security secretary to visit Kansas next week
Topeka ? U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will visit Kansas next week during her first trip as secretary, it was announced Friday.
Napolitano will review the response to ice storms in Kentucky on Tuesday and then head to Manhattan, where she will appear with Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to talk about food safety at the Kansas State University Biosecurity Research Institute.
On Wednesday, Napolitano will address state emergency managers in Topeka, and then travel to Greensburg, which was devastated by a tornado in 2007, for the opening of a new supermarket.
