Decision on southern Kansas casino delayed

? A Kansas review board’s decision on a proposed Wichita-area casino has been delayed.

The Kansas Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board voted Tuesday to send the Chisholm Creek proposal for a $225 million casino complex back to Kansas Lottery officials. The board did so at Chisholm Creek’s request.

Chisholm Creek officials said they want to revise their plan because of potential competition from an Indian casino in the Wichita area. Also, they said they want to add a hotel to the first phase of development.

Chisholm Creek’s proposal was the only one for the Wichita area and would be about 20 miles south of the city.

Lottery officials said they would try to expedite negotiations over a new plan. The review board is independent of the lottery.
