August 28, 2009

— A former Kansas State University student who had been banned from campus since spring has been arrested near the school on suspicion of making criminal threats.

The university says police arrested 20-year-old Borong Liu, of China, on Wednesday night. The university says the arrest was part of an investigation into criminal threats against people associated with the English Department.

A Kansas State spokesman says Liu had been an English Language Program student. He was being held in Riley County Jail on $10,000 bond.
