Workshops set on pond, pasture management

“Making the Most of Your Acreage: Pasture Management 101” workshops will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Tonganoxie fairgrounds and at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 29 at the Gardner fairgrounds. The same topics will be presented at each site.

Topics include pasture weed management, constructing electric fences, soil testing, pasture planting and management, manure management, grazing management and pond management.

Presenters will be from Kansas State University Extension and county conservation districts. An additional “Pasture Management Workshop and Tour” will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Gardner fairgrounds, featuring Gary Kilgore, KSU Extension emeritus professor, as the afternoon keynote speaker.
