Junction City ? Police in Junction City are investigating after a suspect fired at a narcotics detective and fled from officers in a chase that ended in a crash.

The driver of the fleeing vehicle was arrested, but the suspected shooter was not immediately apprehended.

Police said in a news release Saturday that several shots were fired at the narcotics detective around midnight. The officer was able to get out of the vehicle and take cover. Police said shots were fired from the suspect vehicle as it drove away.
