Volunteers sought to help city staff with park maintenance issues

Volunteers again are being sought to help city staff with several park maintenance issues.

Lawrence Parks and Recreation leaders are calling for volunteers on the following dates:

• 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on April 18 at Centennial Park, 600 Rockledge Road. Volunteers are needed to help pick up trash and do other general cleaning.

• 10 a.m to 1 p.m. on April 25 at Prairie Park, 2811 Kinsington Road. Volunteers will be doing general cleanup work in the park and around Mary’s Lake.

• 9 a.m. to noon on May 9 at the trails along Clinton Parkway. Volunteers are needed for general cleanup.

The Parks and Recreation Department is still seeking volunteers to help with flower planting at several park locations across the city. The next round of planting is scheduled for early May.
