Topeka ? Kansas legislators aren’t rushing to change the gambling law to help race tracks or state-owned casinos.

Legislators wrapped up the first segment of their session last week and will return the week of April 27 to finish their work. But legislative leaders continue to say they have no desire to debate gambling this year.

A bill allowing tracks to make more money from slot machines and to remove what some say could be an obstacle to casinos getting slots is stuck in a Senate committee.

The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission says it’s working with slot manufacturers on possible solutions.
