Hospitals receive grants for upgrades

Kansas University and Stormont-Vail Healthcare are among 94 recipients of equipment and technology grants from Kan-Ed, a statewide information network affiliated with the Kansas Board of Regents.

The funds will be used to upgrade video conference equipment.

KU received more than $30,000, while the KU School of Pharmacy received more than $74,000 in grants. KU Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., also received more than $74,000. Topeka’s Stormont-Vail Healthcare Inc. received $175,300 to upgrade its video conference system.

Kan-Ed distributed $2.1 million to member organizations in 2008.
