A mayor in southwest Kansas says an 18-month-old boy in his town has died from E. coli infection and the toddler's brother is recovering from the same disease.
Liberal Mayor Joe Denoyer says Tanner Edgar Strickland died Wednesday at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita and his brother is listed in stable condition.
"There is no threat to the public," Denoyer said.
Denoyer and Seward County Health Department Director Martha Brown say the incident is contained within the immediate family.
Brown said health officials are talking to everyone who might have been around the children.
