Nebraska A 14-year-old Iowa girl was abandoned Tuesday in Nebraska under its safe haven law, but the person who left her could face prosecution in the girl's home state, Nebraska health officials said.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services said the girl is from Council Bluffs, Iowa, just across the Missouri River from Omaha. She was left at Creighton University Medical Center on Tuesday afternoon, and her case was reported to Iowa authorities.
The girl is the 17th child overall and the first from another state to be abandoned since the law took effect in July.
It was meant to protect the lives of infants by letting a parent leave them at any state-licensed hospital without fear of prosecution, but the law doesn't set any age limit.

Umm. They should have “aborted” her in Iowa instead of delivering her alive in Nebraska? This makes no sense. I'm sure some baby killers will be here shortly to explain it and express their outrage of abandoning a 14 year old girl because it would harm the mother to take care of her.

I think she was delivered about 14 years ago. Are you really that slow?

Confront, are you really that slow you can't comprehend the rest of my comment? I made sure to put that in just for you, but guess sometimes that doesn't help.

14 years old? That'll teach you to talk back to your momma. No seriously, that poor girl, the emotional trauma and probably embarrassment that she felt breaks my heart. My thoughts are with her. I couldn't even imagine what that'd feel like to be thrown away at that age. What a crappy mom!

What if you refused to poison your child with witch doctor poisons of vaccinations and such and then they steal your child away because of “child endangerment”? How would the child feel then? Seems a little strange they will forceably take your child away when you are looking out for their best interests but yet if you decide you don't want a child and rather than killing it, do your best to give it a chance in life, then they condemn you.

I feel awful for this girl. I can't imagine giving my kids away, no matter how dire circumstances may become. Can you imagine her little face when she realized she had been left by her mother? It makes me want to cry just thinking about it.
