Regents announce members of Johnson County Education Research Triangle Authority

The Kansas Board of Regents announced on Tuesday the seven members who will constitute the Johnson County Education Research Triangle Authority.

The board will oversee funding and conduct audits of proceeds from a recently passed sales tax in Johnson County to support Kansas University and Kansas State University research and facilities.

Serving on the board for four-year terms are State Sen. David Wysong, appointed by KU Chancellor Robert Hemenway; State Sen. Karin Brownlee, appointed by K-State President Jon Wefald; Kansas School Board Member-elect Sue Storm, appointed by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius; Johnson County Community College Trustee Lynn Mitchelson, appointed by the JCCC Board of Trustees; Johnson County Commission Chairman Annabeth Surbaugh, appointed by the Johnson County Commission; Johnson County Commissioner Ed Eilert, appointed by the Kansas Board of Regents; and Lenexa Mayor Michael Boehm, appointed by Hemenway.
