Teacher gets ‘hard 25’ for abusing 8-year-old

? A former Dodge City teacher has been sentenced to a “hard 25” life sentence for taking indecent liberties with an 8-year-old girl.

District Judge Van Hampton sentenced Tabatha Adams, 36, Thursday to life in prison without possibility of parole for 25 years, said Ford County Assistant County Attorney David Belling.

Adams pleaded guilty in March to one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. She was arrested in December after someone found explicit digital pictures of Adams and her boyfriend, 28-year-old Zachary Noble, of Falls City, Neb., and turned them over to Dodge City police.

Adams was a second-grade teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School at the time. The victim was a student at the school, but not one of Adams’ students. Adams later resigned.

She also faces charges in Nebraska, where the crimes are alleged to have occurred.
